The Spectrum Controls 1734SC-IE4CH is a four (4) channel universal analog input module. This module is made in compatibility with the 1734 Point I/O system. This module has four (4) differential analog input channels compatible for 4-20 milliampere signal. Each channel of this module is configurable using HART protocol. Each channel has a selectable input filter with a resolution of 16-bit.

The 1734SC-IE4CH allows a combination of the real-time HART data acquisition to the standard analog acquisition and control. The 1734SC-IE4CH allows you to simplify the commissioning, the operation and the maintenance of the HART devices. The 1734SC-IE4CH also functions as a HART master and hence allows the communications with the other HART field devices. The 1734SC-IE4CH uses various LED lights that function to indicate the operational status of the device. These LED lights will show the module status, the network status, and also the channel status. The 1734SC-IE4CH uses various communication protocols to communicate to the controller. The communication protocols commonly used by the module includes the ControlNet, the DeviceNet, or the Ethernet adapter. The module will receive 5 to 24 Volt DC power through the bus interface. The HART communications can be enabled independently on each channel. While the channel has been enabled, the 1734SC-IE4CH acts as a primary HART master and the HART-enabled field device act as a HART slave. The environmental specifications for the module feature a maximum operating temperature of -20 to 55 degrees Celsius and nonoperating or storage temperature of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

Selectable input filter includes 50/60 Hz, 50 Hz, 60 Hz, 100 Hz, 120 Hz, 240 Hz and 480 Hz while the module’s sampling time it includes is 488 milliseconds at 50/60 Hertz to 33 milliseconds at 480 Hertz. This module supports Engineering units (scalable) as data format while the HART feature supports PV, SV, TV and FV variables. This module features 16-bit resolution and accuracy of better than 0.1% of range when operated at 0-25 Degree Celsius environment.

The 1734SC-IE4CH has an electrical isolation rating of 50 Volts DC field-wiring-to-backplane; 50 Volts DC field-wiring-to-chassis-ground and 10 Volts DC channel-to-channel isolation while its input impedance is 250 Ohm, typical. It has backplane current draw of 20 mA at 24 Volts DC and 12 mA at 5 Volts DC while the thermal dissipation has a maximum of 1.0 Watt.
