Allen-Bradley 1768-L43

The Allen-Bradley 1768-L43 controller is a CompactLogix series industrial controller. It is designed to handle medium-sized industrial applications and to provide industrial Logix solutions to these applications. This compact controller must be installed with a power supply, an end cap, a serial cable, and mounting screws or a DIN Rail in order to operate. The 1768-L43 CompactLogix controller can host either up to 2 local Bulletin 1768 I/O modules or up to 16 local and remote Bulletin 1769 I/O modules.

The Allen-Bradley 1768-L43 CompactLogix controller is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that is used to control machines and processes. This controller has integrated serial port for connection to PCs and other devices. It supports two 1768 backplane modules and it supplies a backplane current of 1.3 Amps at 24 Volts. It has a 2.0 Amps backplane current at 5.2 Volts. For manually changing the operating mode, the controller is provided with a key control on the front panel for adjusting the controller mode.

The 1768-L43 has a maximum power consumption of 31.3 Watts and a power dissipation rate of 6.3 Watts. It can support a maximum of sixteen 1769 I/O modules and two 1768 modules residing within 2 remote I/O banks. The 1768-L43 has an isolation voltage of 30 Volts tested at 500 Volts AV between RS 232 and system. The 1768-L43 is designated at aT4 temperature code (135 degrees Celsius) and is compatible with any open style type enclosure rating. It is easily mounted using either the (wall)/panel mount or DIN rail via M4 or #8 mounting screws. The 1768-L43 has a weight of 11.9 ounces and shipping dimensions of 5.18 x 2.65 x 4.80 inches. The 1768-L43 has a 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity, a working temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit), and a storage temperature range between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius (-40 and 185 degrees Fahrenheit).

This controller provides with a 2MB memory allocation. This provided memory may be added with a 1784-CF128 optional non-volatile memory. This memory is a CompactFlash memory supports automatic loading of user program, modular transfer of controller data to another compatible controller. It prevents deletion of the program and prevents unwanted deletion of data.

It is also provided with a fully isolated RS232 communication port that supports maximum speed of 38.4 Kbps. For connecting to the controller, recommended cables include 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP3, which is a right-angle connector to controller, straight to serial port, with length of 3 meters.

The 1768-L43 supports installation of up to Sixteen (16) 1769 Compact I/O modules in the local chassis. It supports expansion option of up to Two (2) I/O banks. This CompactLogix controller is provided with status indicators such as PWR, I/O PWR, RUN, FORCE, MEM SAVE, I/O, OK, CF, DCH0 and CH0.

The 1768-L43 supports DIN rail or mounting panel. Maintain Top and Bottom clearances of 105 mm or 4.13 inches, Side clearances of 90mm or 3.54 inches. These clearances ensure proper air circulation and ventilation to maintain the ambient operating temperature of 0...60 °C (32...140 °F).

This controller supports Ladder, Statement List, Function Block programming languages. The controller support tag-based and alias addressing.
