The Allen-Bradley 1783-ETAP2F is an Ethernet I/P Switch used for industrial Ethernet I/P communication. This module has One (1) 10/100 Mbps, auto-negotiating copper port and Two (2) Fiber Optic interface that supports 100 Mbps in full duplex operation. This device support horizontal or vertical installation orientation using a standard DIN rail.

The Allen-Bradley ETAP2F is an industrial Ethernet networking component that features One (1) Copper Ports and Two (2) Fiber Optic interfaces supporting 10/100 Mbps communication speed. It may also be used with encompass partner modules as well as non-Allen-Bradley and 3rd party products.

The single copper port of the 1783-ETAP2F is capable for 10/100 Mbps with auto-negotiating capability and supports operation in full or half duplex modes. The dual fiber optic ports of the 1783-ETAP2F is similarly capable of 10/100 Mbps communication speed with support for longer communication distance that exhibits increased susceptibility to noise and disturbances of electrical nature.

The 1783-ETAP2F does not install to any backplane nor does not draw current from it. It is supplied externally by a power supply with input voltage range of 20.4…27.6V DC with a nominal input voltage of 24VDC. This Ethernet device can be installed using a DIN rail mount or directly mounted to an enclosure plate. It is capable of horizontal and vertical mounting, providing flexibility of installation. This device occupies minimum panel space however, specific installation clearance must be followed to ensure proper operation and quality of connection. These clearances include 7.62 cm (3 in.) of space on the bottom of the tap and 2.54 cm (1 in.) of space on the remaining sides of the tap. For Fiber cable entry, at least 5.08 cm or 2 inches is recommended to comply with the necessary bending radius of the Fiber Optic cable.

The Allen-Bradley 1783-ETAP2F tap is an Ethernet/IP tap with 1 copper port and 2 fiber ports. The Fiber transceiver type is the 100Base-FX IEEE 802.3u transceiver. The optical wavelength is 1310 nanometers. The minimum transmitter launch power at startup is -19 dBm into 62.5/125 micrometer fiber and -22.5 dBm into 50/125 micrometer fiber. The minimum and maximum receiver sensitivity levels are -31.8 dBm and -14 dBm. The fiber channel power budget at the rated BET is 12.8 dB for 62.5/125 micrometer multimode fiber and 9.3 dB for 50/125 micrometer multimode fiber. The connector type is the IEC 61754-20 LC connector with a maximum insertion loss of 0.75 dB per connection. The maximum channel length is 2 kilometers.
