The 22C-D072A103 is a PowerFlex 400 Adjustable Frequency AC Drive from Allen-Bradley. This drive is specifically designed for fan and pump application. It operates when supplied with voltage of 480VAC, 3-Phase. It delivers output power of 37 kW or 50.0 HP. The drive’s output Current is 72.0 Amperes with an IP30, NEMA UL Type 1 enclosure.

The Allen-Bradley 22C-D072A103 PowerFlex 400 adjustable AC frequency drive. This drive is specifically designed for use in industrial fan and pump applications. Adjustable AC frequency drives are also called as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Variable Speed Drives (VSD), Frequency Inverters, Inverters or simply, drives. Its hardware is mainly composed of electronic components that is designed to be operated with 480VAC, 3-Phase along an input frequency range of 47-63 Hz. It delivers an output current of 72 Amperes and output power of 50.0 Hp or 37.0 kW.

The 22C-D072A103 is primarily used for speed control. It implements control using Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) or Volts / Hertz (V/Hz). It delivers a programmable frequency range of 0-320 Hz with carrier frequency of 2-8 kHz, Drive rating based on 4 kHz.

The 22C-D072A103 is not limited for speed control applications. It may also be used to lower energy consumption by providing proper motor Start / Stop, Acceleration / Deceleration, Ramp-up and ramp down profiles. These parameters effectively limit generation of inrush current and effective protects the motor from the mechanical stress brought by sudden start and stop actions. Available programmable stop modes are Ramp, Coast, DC-Brake, Ramp-to-Hold and S-curve while acceleration and deceleration are support configuration of Two (2) independently programmable accel and decel times. Each setting may be configured from 0…600 s in 0.1 s increments.

The 22C-D072A103 supports Drive Serial Interface (DSI) and comes with an integral RS485 communication interface that permit the drive to be connected in a daisy-chain network of drives.

At 50 Horsepower and with a frame size of E, this unit is helpful in providing additional support for relevant applications. This unit is listed with both the UL508C and the CAN/CSA-22.2 certifications, and it meets the relevant portions of the NFPA 70 US standards. It should be kept at altitudes lower than 1000 meters or 3300 feet to avoid unnecessary derating. Similarly, it will function best when operating in a temperature range of -10 to 45 degrees Celsius (14 to 113 degrees Fahrenheit). The 22C-D072A103 drive uses a fan for cooling, and it should be stored at a minimum temperature of -40 degrees Celsius (-40 degrees Fahrenheit) and at a maximum temperature of 85 degrees Celsius (185 degrees Fahrenheit). The 22C-D072A103 drive should not be installed, operated, or stored in an atmosphere that contains corrosive elements such as vapors, dust, or dangerous gases. With a peak operating shock of 15 G for a duration of 11 milliseconds and a peak operating vibration of 1 G at 5 to 2000 Hertz, this unit meets the 2003 International Building Code seismic requirements. The 22C-D072A103 can tolerate frequencies between 48 and 63 Hertz. Its 3-phase input has a maximum 0.98 power factor displacement across its entire range of speed, making it an efficient drive. The 22C-D072A103 has a total of 7 digital control inputs, 4 of them are fully programmable and the other 3 are semi-programmable, and it has 2 analog control inputs (1 isolated at -10 to 10 Volts, 1 non-isolated at 0 to 10 Volts). Its control outputs consist of 2 programmable Form C outputs, 6 optional programmable Form A outputs, 1 programmable opto output, and 2 non-isolated analog control outputs at 0 to 10 Volts. Additional features of this module include an LCD keypad with 5 LED indicators and an RS485 communication type.
